Artist Noir Workshop Series:

Envisioning Art Through Dance

In the Envisioning Art Through Dance workshop series, local elementary and middle school African American students were taught the fundamentals of dance by Mr. Myles Springs, a local African American male who served as artist-in-resident. In the culminating workshop, students performed a five-minute dance routine using a Lion King theme in which they displayed their dance skills before an audience consisting of family, friends and community members. The performance was held at the Aiken Center for the Arts on March 23, 2024.

Artist Noir is a Southern Area initiative that hones students’ arts talent and development of technical and creative skills, provides mentoring with local artists, and provides exposure to the arts, different cultures, and community.
